Ride or Die, a hot new standalone romance by Terri E. Laine is now LIVE!!!

She was off-limits in more ways than one. And for fuck’s sake, she wasn’t even his type. He liked his women soft to take his mind off his hard life. He also wanted them eager and willing to please. She was everything but.

Piper has long since left the motorcycle club lifestyle and has no desire to return. Since she’s been gone she’s made a new life for herself, including a dangerous new, secret profession. Her days living under the thumb of the men in her life are long gone. That is until one day when a dark and dangerous bearded stranger shows up at her apartment in NY stating he’s there to retrieve her and bring her back to the club, President’s orders. She doesn’t go willingly and is determined to break free from her escort. Despite the fact that she’s not his type and that she’s a total pain, Ender can’t help his body’s reaction to this fiery woman. The only problem is that she’s been claimed by a fellow club member, his best friend, which makes her firmly off limits. The way these two provoke each other on their cross country trip, it might take a miracle for them to make it to California without either killing or screwing each other.

To be truthful, I’m not sure how I really feel about this book. I thought it started off good, I liked Piper, she was a spitfire and I liked how tough she was. Her character stayed true to her toughness pretty much throughout and I even liked seeing the glimpses of her softer side when she was helping others. I never quite connected with Ender, however. He never really showed much more than the mean, tough guy persona that he had to adopt as part of the club. There was a certain part that was included, I am guessing, to help show a more sensitive, caring side, but it wasn’t enough to really redeem him in my eyes. It was mentioned briefly and then explained almost in passing that it didn’t have the impact it probably could have. The two of them together definitely had sparks and the cat and mouse thing they had going on was fun at times, but I never felt more of a connection between them besides just physical desire. I get that the MC lifestyle and the relationships between the members and their women aren’t all hearts and flowers, but I would have liked at least some sort of deeper connection. Maybe it was just the 3rd person narration that I had trouble connecting with.

Also, maybe it was just me, but I thought that much of the stuff that happened on their cross country road trip (like the few stops Ender had to make) just seemed random and not connected to anything. It felt like a lot was happening while at the same time, not much was happening, if that makes any sense. I hope it doesn’t sound like I am picking on the book because I’m not, there were definitely aspects of the book that I enjoyed, like I said, the cat and mouse thing was fun and Piper was a cool heroine. I would have just loved more love (or even just like) and less hate between her and Ender along the way and maybe less distractions in the overall storyline. That being said, I think there are going to be lots of people who really enjoy this story, if you’re a fan of MC books and not looking for a ton of actual romance, check it out!

Unfortunately, he turned out to be better at being a predator than she was at surviving being prey.

Piper’s no stranger to motorcycle clubs. She ran from that life several years ago and has no desire to go back. Only the life came looking for her in the form of a gorgeous, massive man they call Ender.

Ender is the cleanup guy. The guy who fixes sh#t when it’s broken. When he’s sent to retrieve the sexy hothead, he gets more than he’s bargained for.

She’s no wallflower and during her years away, she’s learned new skills making her lethal. But Ender is just as good at his job and he’ll get her back home, hog-tied if he has to.

There’s only one problem. The more time he spends with her road tripping across the country, the more he wants her in his bed. The patch that marks her as taken, however, belongs to another, his best friend and brother. And a man’s got to live by a code, one he can’t break.

She hates him for what he represents and his cold demeanor. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want one night to see if the man behind the mask lives up to his reputation. For her survival, she’s determined to break him and his code. It might be her only means of escape. And if she’s honest, the sooner she can get away the better because her heart is getting lost in him too.
